4.0 ENTERTAINMENTS

The project invited other groups such as shark film, shababi dancers, Mombasa martial arts, scouts, mbuyuni development school kids.

4.1 SHABABI DANCERS

In fact in miritini we have talents which need to be exposed and empowered. The shababi dancers makes us proud because we make use of them in order to create more attendance and make more money for those who came to see how they were dancing.

 4.2 SHARK FILM

This group is good in film making and also creating awareness. They show the community how they respond to those who came to collect garbage from them. And even some times they ignore to put or refuse to pay levy to garbage collectors which shows a shame to them who does it.

 4.3 MOMBASA MARTIAL ARTS

The Mombasa martial arts were given time to talk and act. The group is young and energetic. What they show is that martial arts are not bad groups, they are much disciplined. What it shows is self defense; also the group can be invited to any occasion just for awareness. They also complained about where they contact their training they pay a monthly fee. So if possible they can get an offer to train free at Miritini Primary School. This was accepted by our MCA who attended the function, Hon Kibwana Swaleh Baya.

Mbuyuni development school for the OVC is one of the activities and objectives of Mbuyuni Development Youth Project. All in all, as the topic reads, the day started well, with student attendance at almost one hundred percent. Their relatives started joining from 9:30am. The registration was carried out by our secretary – Jecinta Mwikali.

Mbuyuni development school for the OVC is a community school, started by Miritini youth in 2008. It is benefiting over 40 families who are totally poor and some orphans. Currently the school holds over 100 pupils that are from KG 1 – Class 6. The school has 6 teachers, 1 big class and four classrooms, which also do not accommodate all the pupils we have.

2. OBJECTIVE

This was a one day exercise and its main objectives were as stated below.

  • To have one day in the year to give our performing students presents.
  • To give pupils and their relatives a platform whereby they can share happiness.
  • To have this kind of an activity once in a year.
  • To have one way of motivating pupils and their relatives.
  • The exercise will put more emphasis on the pupil’s strength and also will make them improve on their work.
  • Will make pupils to work harder than before.

3. REGISTRATION

The exercise took place at 8:30am. The exercise was carried out by our proud secretary. The names of individuals from relatives, friends and pupils were registered. This was carried out to know the exact number of relatives and friends that participated.

This was also because it will be used as evidence that the graduation is attended and supported by the community.

4. ENTERTAINMENT

The school invited other groups such as Bidii Kweli, Shark Film, and Ganahola youth.

Bidii Kweli contributed a lot through entertainment. They play the drums, which they call singaropa, and the pupils loved it very much.

The Sherk Film troop has their own way of acting; their main activity is to preform comedies, which also excited the children a lot. The pupils were even trained on the way comedy is being done. It was amazing.

The Ganahola Youth Bunge’s main activity is public address, and was used to entertain the audience.

They use this as their income generating activity. They charge as little as KSH 6,000/=.

MBUYUNI DEVELOPMENT SCHOOL FOR OVC

It was confirmed that the pupils have talents and these talents need to be empowered for their future. In fact in schools there should be drums for the students to learn to play, lessons in how to make a public address, and other comprehensive training of talents at school. The pupils used the opportunity on graduation day to entertain their parents and guests with their skills.
