Mbuyuni development school for the OVC is one of the activities and objectives of mbuyuni development youth project. All in all, as the topic or titles reads, the days started with along rain which took almost five good hours, from the morning to the evening it started raining around 7:00 am untill 4:15 pm, when it stopped, the activity was well attended, but not by expectation due to long rain. The registration was carried out by our treasurer, Riziki Salim. Mbuyuni development school for the OVC is a community school started by youth in 2008 it is benefiting over 40 families who are totally poor and some orphans currently the school holds over 100 pupils that are from baby to standard seven the school has 6 teachers,1 big classroom and 4 classrooms which seems not to accommodate the pupils we have.
This activity was a one day activity and its main objectives were as started below
- To have a toilet which will accumulate pupils. Boys and girls they have been using only one toilet both boys and girls for more than five years now.
- To have even one big classroom, that is recommended by the government.
The registration took place evening though it was late according to the program. The program was to start at 10:20AM but it started at 2:00PM due to heavy rains. The exercise was carried out by Riziki Salim. This was only for the registered groups like youth groups, women groups, CBOs, etc.
The project invited other groups such as shark film, shababi dancers, Mombasa martial arts, scouts, mbuyuni development school kids.
4.1 SHABABI DANCERS
In fact in miritini we have talents which need to be exposed and empowered. The shababi dancers makes us proud because we make use of them in order to create more attendance and make more money for those who came to see how they were dancing.
4.2 SHARK FILM
This group is good in film making and also creating awareness. They show the community how they respond to those who came to collect garbage from them. And even some times they ignore to put or refuse to pay levy to garbage collectors which shows a shame to them who does it.
4.3 MOMBASA MARTIAL ARTS
The Mombasa martial arts were given time to talk and act. The group is young and energetic. What they show is that martial arts are not bad groups, they are much disciplined. What it shows is self defense; also the group can be invited to any occasion just for awareness. They also complained about where they contact their training they pay a monthly fee. So if possible they can get an offer to train free at Miritini Primary School. This was accepted by our MCA who attended the function, Hon Kibwana Swaleh Baya.
This group is consisting of young school pupils. They teach and give awareness to parents that their children can train to be soldiers in early child hood.
The group was the one which welcomed our MCA Hon Kibwana Swaleh Baya who went on inspecting the guard of owner.
4.5 MBUYUNI DEVELOPMENT SCHOOL FOR OVC
Mbuyuni development is a school for the OVC. This school gives first priority to the child with specific characters and this are;
- Single parents

The pupils incited a poem entitle “ELIMU BORA”
The poem was meant to educate as to do awareness to the community about how they feel when they only use one toilet from baby class to class 7. This made the community to raise money to them the lower limit being 10 shillings.
